"and those the LORD has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away." (Isaiah 35:10) If you are a child of God and filled with the Holy Spirit, you have joy inside of you. The scripture makes it clear that one of the things that the Holy Spirit produces in us in joy (Gal 5:22). But more often than not, it seems as if this joy is inactive and inoperative. As a matter of fact, that is sometimes the case. Your joy can lie impotent in you while you languish in bitterness, grieving and sighing. If you want to enjoy the fullness of the joy that the Holy Spirit has brought upon your spirit, you have to learn to activate that joy. If you want to be joyful, you have to do it intentionally. The devil thrives on two things: fear and ignorance. As long as you are ignorant or fearful, you can never enjoy the full expression of God's joy. Sometimes, you have to fold up all your worries, fears, cares and cast it all on Jesus. You have to look all your problems in the face and tell them, "I am choosing to be joyful". That is how it works. That is how you live above worries. God has promised us an expression of unspeakable joy. But none of that will be real for you unless you choose it. I am going to say it again: if you want to be joyful, you have to do it intentionally..
The scripture we read in Isaiah said that those who enter Zion with singing will be crowned with everlasting joy! That's wonderful. Notice also that Gladness and Joy is the cure for sorrow and sighing. If one gets sick, and wishes to get better, he has to "intentionally" take the medicine prescribed by a Physician. If he refuses to take the medicine, he won't get better. Joy is the cure for sorrow and bitterness. Activate your joy today. Decide to be joyful.
