"For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters." (Rom 8:29) A prince is a male member of a royal family; especially : a son of the sitting king. In most cases, people accord the prince all the rights and privileges due to a king. I have been opportune to be friends with real natural princes. I noticed the ease and galore with which they carry themselves. Their gallantry is not learned or rehearsed. It just comes natural to them, as a result of being conscious of their position and their father's position. They naturally acquire the instinct to carry themselves with grace and dignity. They naturally expect certain rights and privilege. All these comes to them as a result of knowing who they are. There is power in knowledge! .
Unless you know who you are, you are nobody. Unless you acquire the full awareness and consciousness of who you are in Christ Jesus, the devil will take advantage of your ignorance. The only thing that empowers you to exercise your rights and privileges is knowledge. I love a song by Sinach which says "I know who I am". The worst thing that can happen to us is to not know who we are, especially who we are in Jesus. Jesus came as the Prince of pace and reconciled us to God. He brought peace to us; and the Bible said in our text that He (Jesus) became our elder brother - the first born among many brothers and sisters. That makes us His siblings; sharing the same royal blood with Him. That means that Jesus isn't the only prince of peace - He is the first Prince of peace, the originator of the blood lineage, but the goodnews is that we by virtue of His sacrifice became princes and princesses of peace. That is why Paul said:
"And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation " (2 Cor 5:18)
We have been assigned with the same royal priviledge and accorlade as "princes and princesses of peace". Our work is also to reconcile people to God. We are to become the instruments of God's peace. We are to start exercising our rights and privileges as princes and princesses of peace anywhere we find ourselves.
Shalom! Eirene! Peace! Udo!
