Walking in the light

Darkness does not disappear because people complain about it. Darkness disappears when someone turns on the light. .

"Ye are the light of the world... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."Matthew 5:14–16 (KJV)

Jesus called every believer "the light of the world." This means that wherever we go, God's light should be visible through us. We are called to bring hope where there is despair, truth where there is deception, and love where there is hatred.

Light has several characteristics.

First, light reveals. A godly life exposes the emptiness of sin without condemning people. It demonstrates a better way to live.

Second, light guides. People who are confused and searching for direction often find hope by observing believers whose lives are anchored in Christ.

Third, light gives confidence. A person walking in darkness is fearful, but light brings assurance and security. Our words and actions should point people toward Christ, the true Light.

Jesus also warned that light should never be hidden. It is possible to hide our witness through compromise, fear, hypocrisy, or silence. God calls us to shine boldly—not for our own glory, but so that others will glorify Him.

Our workplaces, businesses, schools, neighborhoods, and families are all places where God's light should shine through us.

A believer who consistently reflects Christ becomes undeniable evidence that God's Kingdom is real.
