"Therefore, those of us who are mature should think this way. And if you think differently about anything, God will show you how to think." (Phil 3:1, ISV) A lot of things we do in life depends on our thoughts. A lot of processes and operations in our body depend on our thought process, our thought pattern and our thought path. We can hardly go beyond what we think. Our thought pattern has such controlling effect over our speech, action and even future that it is impossible to think in one direction while going the other direction. It is impossible to think poverty, and become rich. It is impossible to think defeat and be victorious. It is impossible to think obscurity and end up with glory.
As a man thinks in his heart so he is (Prov 23:7), and out of the abundance of our hearts, our mouth speaks (Luke 6:45). It is not uncommon to see people effect great change in their lives, situations and conditions by simply changing how they think. That is because God has created our thoughts to be a quick connection to our unseen subconscious. Our thoughts can act on our behalf even when we are unconscious. Our thought accounts for our reflexes, instincts and habits - things that we usually have no control over.
In this month of glory, it is time to express the glory that God has given you, it is time to call to duty the great glory that God has deposited in you by changing how you think. When Paul addressed the Phillipians, he instructed them on a certain way in which they should pattern their thoughts. Those who are matured should think this way! In the Mesage Bible, it says "those who want everything God has, should stay focused"! The truth is that for us to be all that God has planned for us to be, we must think in a certain way. And the beautiful thing about it is that if you think differently, if you are unable at first to think the way you should, then God will show you how to think!
Prayer
Lord take hold of my thought process and show me the right way to think.
