"Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord" (2 Peter 1:2) Having been born into the family of God, we each receive a certain measure of grace. This grace is to help us excel in our service, ministry and life as God's children. It is part of the power we receive to become the sons of (John 1:12). This grace is essential to our survival and success as believers. Without this grace, we can hardly fit into any role in the church - the body of Christ. Because they that worship God must do so in truth and in spirit, our natural strength and gift can only take us so far in spiritual thing; hence the grace. But this grace is meant to grow. It is meant to be multiplied. At some instance, we are meant to impart this grace unto others. But if we fail to grow this grace, it will hardly be "enough" for us let alone be imparted unto others. The Apostle Paul once encountered this problem. He was given a special grace to suffer certain things for the sake of Christ which he didn't really understand at the time. He kept praying for God to remove his suffering, but God told him "my grace is sufficient for you". God told him I have given you the grace to endure this. Use the grace. .
How exactly do we multiply the grace that God has given us? The Bible says, it is through the knowledge of God. The more we know about God, the more we understand His grace upon our life and they more we can function in that grace effectively. In the real sense, it is not really the grace that "increases", but our understanding of it does as we grow in the knowledge of God!
