"And you shall know the truth, and thr truth shall make you free" (John 8:32) "It gave me great joy to have some brothers come and tell about your faithfulness to the truth and how you continue to walk in the truth" (3 John 3, NIV) In special dedication to my upcoming book launch, today's lesson - Living in truth is extracted from the book: TRUTH - A Life-changing Encounter. God bless you as read!.
Gladly, we are not just saved or freed by the truth, we live by it. Ever wonder what will happen if those freed by the truth, throw away the truth and decide to go back to the lies. Yes. I also wonder sometimes; and the answer is not farfetched: they become entangled once again in the bondage from which they have been freed.
To ensure that we remain steadfast in the truth, we are to continually feed ourselves the truth.
It is one thing to become free by the truth and another thing to remain faithful to the truth. Truth demands faithfulness and continuity. It is not something you receive and you go to sleep. It is not a once freed, always freed system.
One can slip back into the bondage of lies just as soon one was freed, if one failed to be faithful to the truth. The Apostle John expresses his delight at how Gaius was faithful to the truth by continuing to walk or live in the truth. The word translated walk simply means to live. This passage shows that our devotion to the truth must be continuous and lifetime. We cannot afford to relent. We are to continuously and constantly feed our self the truth to leave no room for the devil and his lies.
Do you know that the extent to which you are free depends on the amount of truth you have acquired? There are no two ways about it. If you continue to show faithfulness to the truth, if you continue to live by and in the truth, you will continue to experience the reward of freedom.
Prayer
Lord give me the grace to remain in your truth always!
