Victory is sure

"The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is his name" (Exo 15:3) The Bible is filled with imagery and metaphors about the greatness of God and the splendour of His majesty. But not once was God called a man except on this one occasion when in search of a better word to illustrate His mastery of war-craft. In other words, if God were to be a man, if God were to choose an occupation, if God were to have an identity, it would be as a warrior. He would be known as a man of war - a super Field Martial. His battlemanship is unparalleled by anyone and second to none. You should ask yourself why God would so choose to master the art of war. Who is He fighting against? Who is He defending Himself against? Is He under some threat that He had need to adorn Himself with self defence skills? The answer is no! God is not fighting for Himself. He made Himself a warrior just so He could fight for us. And He is the only War general that has never lost a battle! .

Imagine going to war, knowing that no matter what happens you will win! No matter what your enemy does or doesn't do; you are going to defeat him. That kind of knowledge must fill one with a strong sense of confidence. The truth is that, that is exactly how it is in our battle of life. If we make God our warrior; and allow Him to fight our battles we are sure of victory no matter what the enemy does. The devil can only do so much; but in the end, God always wins. When the devil had Jesus crucified, he thought he had won the battle. I could imagine him celebrating with his demons; celebrating what they thought was their first victory over God. But what he thought was his greatest victory turned out to be his greatest defeat. God knows every technique in the war game. He is a Master! A. man of war. He never loses. if He is doing your battles, then relax because victory is sure.
