"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." (Colossians 3:2 NIV) .
To set your mind on something means to focus on that thing. In life whatever we focus on controls our thoughts, our speech and even our life.
It is impossible to focus on one thing and be doing something else. A lot of people believe that focus is everything in life, and they are right.
This scripture reminds us of where we must put our focus. We should put our focus on things above, that is on kingdom things, spiritual things, heavenly things ... not on earthly things. When you are asking God to bless you financially, what is your focus? is it so that you can server Him more with your finance, or just so you can buy yourself some more things you don't need!
Jesus said where a man's treasure is there his heart (focus) will also be (Matt 6:21). Here is something you should ask yourself: where is my treasure? where is my source? where is my hope? Is it on God? Then focus on God and God's things. You can't go wrong. T
