"But when God destroyed the cities of the valley where Lot was living, He kept Abraham in mind and allowed Lot to escape to safety" (Gen 19:29) We often read in the Bible that God is not a respecter of persons, and we erroneously assume that to mean that God does not respect or honour people. But that is not what that means....
"God is not a respecter of persons" simple means that God is not partial. If Christian A obeys His word and keeps His principles for blessings, He will bless Christian A. If Christian B does likewise, and Christian C and D and so on, they will all receive God's blessing. And if Christian A stops obeying God's word and turns away, then God will stop blessing Him. Full stop. No partiality. No respect for person. God does not respect persons, He honours principles and faith.
I want to announce to somebody today who has been faithful to God, committed to the things of God, sowing your seeds in tears - and people are talking behind you because you seem to have nothing to show for all your years of faithfulness. Friend, may I announce to you that the next action God is going to take, He will keep you in mind. In other words, He will do it so that it will favour you.
God was destroying the city of Sodom. But when He came to where Lot was living, He hesitated so that Lot could escape to safety. And the Bible said the reason He hesitated was because He was keeping Abraham in mind. To keep someone in mind means to remember or to be constantly thinking of them so much that it affects your thoughts, speech and action. And that is what God is about to do for you.
Rejoice today and approach this day, this week with faith and confidence knowing that God is keeping you in mind. God bless you.
