"David son of Jesse was the man whom God made great, whom the God of Jacob chose to be king..." 2 Sam 23:1, GNV) If I have learnt anything in this life, it is that, "it is not of him that willeth nor of him that runneth but of God who showeth mercy". The New International Version puts it this way: "It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God's mercy." (Rom 9:13). As much as we would like to take credit for our hardwork, commitment, dedication and observance of the rules and principles for success and life and business; as much as we would like to encourage people to do their part and be committed and consistent to succeed, we must also remember that in the end it is God who determines the outcome. A lot of persons have worked harder than you, prayed harder than you, read more books than you... yet Grace has placed you above them..
As I read the last chronicle of David's life, the Bible said, "These are the last words of David, son of Jesse whom God made great!" The scriptures attributes that all of David's accomplishment were possible because God made it so. Did David kill Goliath? Did He kill the ten thousand? Did He stand for God when all Israe were afraid? Did he kill the lion and the bear? Was he a mighty man in battle? Did he write so many psalms? Did he write so many prophecies? The Bible says it was God who enabled him do it. We must never lose consciousness of the grace of God. The highest abuse of grace is to assume credit for what grace has accomplished. As we draw near to the end of this month of Glorious Grace, I release the grace of God upon you this remaining days. You shall do what others have failed to do. Grace shall distinguish you. People shall say of you, "This is the man/woman whom God made great"
Stay blessed!
