The ultimate purpose of a miracle is not simply to make our lives more comfortable. It is to reveal the power, goodness, and glory of God. .
“Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory.” (Psalm 115:1)
When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He demonstrated His divine power and brought glory to God.
When God provided for Israel, He revealed Himself as their provider.
When He delivered Daniel from the lions, His name was exalted.
When He healed the sick, people saw His compassion and power.
The miracle points beyond itself to the Miracle Worker.
This is why we must be careful about how we respond to God's blessings.
When God promotes you, give Him glory.
When your business grows, give Him glory.
When you receive an opportunity, give Him glory.
When your prayer is answered, give Him glory.
When your life changes, give Him glory.
Never allow God's blessing to become a reason for taking God's place.
The more God gives us, the more humble we should become.
Jesus said that our light should shine before men so that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven.
The goal is not:
“Look at what I have achieved.”
The goal is:
“Look at what God has done.”
The miracle may be remarkable, but the Miracle Worker is greater.
Reflection
When people see God's blessings in your life, do they see reasons to glorify God?
Prayer
Father, I thank You for every miracle, every blessing, every open door, and every testimony in my life. Keep my heart humble. Never allow Your blessings to become a source of pride. May everything You do through me point people to Jesus and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Daily Declaration
I will give God all the glory. I will not take credit for what God has done. My testimony will point people to Jesus, and my life will continually reflect His goodness, power, and grace. Amen.
