With God, it is never too late to start afresh

"And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters" (Gen 5:21-22) This is one of my favourite scriptures. The story of Enoch is just a story that keeps on giving, keeps on inspiring, keeps on revealing. The Bible recorded that Noah was sixty five years old when he begat Methuselah. And the Bible was also very precise to record that it was after Enoch begat Methuselah that he began walking with God. Sixty five years old ago before Methuselah came, what was Noah doing? I could only hazard a guess. My guess was he was living just like every other person in his generation. Nothing special about him. Nothing spectacular about him. Nothing extraordinary. I am sure people who knew him in all those sixty five years had no idea he was about to be the first man to go to heaven without tasting death. The Bible recorded that Enoch lived on this earth for three hundred and sixty five years. The first sixty five years of his life was spent in mediocrity; but the last three hundred years was superb, glorious and eventually culminated in divine transformation to eternity without passing through death. .

Your life may have gotten off to a bad start. You may have spent the first fifteen, twenty, thirty-five or even sixty five years of your life in sin and rebellion to God, in failure, in disappointment and distress. But that does not mean that God has given up on you. If God could walk with Enoch to the extent He did even when it took Enoch sixty five years to get in line, then you still have a chance. It doesn't matter how many years or how much time you have wasted in ignorance and mediocrity, if you will mean business with God today, this year; then He is able to turn your life around. He is able to restore to you the years that you wasted. It is never too late to start afresh when God is involved. Enoch lived an additional three hundred years. That exceeds far in comparison to the sixty five years he wasted. I am sure as he embarked on his three hundred year walk with God, the former sixty five years seemed like something that happened in another life time. Simply God restored to him every time he lost. God wants to do the same for you. Are you ready?
