The light that brings the glory

"Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. 2"For behold, darkness will cover the earth And deep darkness the peoples; But the LORD will rise upon you And His glory will appear upon you..." (Isa 60:1,2) "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8:12) When we hear of the glory of God, it is easy to assume it to be a spontaneous effect of some miraculous waving of hand. While God can do anything anyway, He chooses out of His divine sovereignty to control the universe by principles, causes and effects, sowing and reaping. This is why the glory of God is preceded by light. Today, we look at the light that brings the glory .

Notice how the Bible puts it, "Arise, shine for your light has come. And the glory of God is risen upon you. The light precedes the glory. In other words, if the light does not come or if we fail to make ourselves amenable to the light, then the glory will elude us. The reason most people labour in vain to express the glory of God is because they don't have the light. Once the light is accepted and embraced, the glory becomes automatic. As a matter of fact, the amount of glory you exude is a function of the luminious intensity of the light in you. The greater the light, the greater the glory.

Naturally, the closer you are to the source of light, the farther you will be from darkness. Jesus says "I am the light of the world." He did not say I am the light of God. In other words, when Isaiah speaks of your light, He is speaking about Jesus. That is why Isaiah did not say the light of God has come. It is for our sake that Jesus came as a light. and the essence of manifesting Himself as the light is to bring the glory of God to us.
