Fruitful 1 - Two kinds of people

" For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ " (2 Pet 1:8) There is something about life that makes us want to be successful and fruitful. I have never met a person who never wanted to be successful. It is like it is a rule of thumb, a cliche, an inbuilt machinery - everyone desire success. As soon as we come to age in life, we become overshadowed by this desire to be successful. Yet more often than not, we never take the time to study and understand success. .

Success is simply bearing the right fruit at the right time. The Bible described a successful man in Psalm 1. He said blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor sits in the seat of the scournful...and so on. It took the pain to describe to us what the man does that makes him successful and never tells us what it means by him being successful- is it buying a new car, landing his dream job, getting married, etc? Then, it gave us the answer. He is " ...like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season" (vs. 3)

There is no better measure for success than fruitfulness. But then there are two two kinds of people as Apostle Peter instructs us - the Barren and the Unfruitful.

Our aim in this lesson is to discern the difference and then learn how to become fruitful.

It is the first day of a new month, new year, new decade! Happy new year and stay with me.

Prayer

Lord let my success be by bearing the right fruit. In this new year, may I be planted by the rivers of your Word to remain fruitful in Jesus name. Amen
