The God who still does miracles

We begin this month with a simple but powerful truth: God has not changed. The Bible reveals a God who performs miracles. .

“For I am the LORD, I change not.”
Malachi 3:6 (KJV)

He opened the Red Sea.

He caused water to come from a rock.

He fed Israel in the wilderness.

He shut the mouths of lions.

He caused the walls of Jericho to fall.

He healed the sick.

He raised the dead.

He multiplied bread and fish.

He delivered people from impossible situations.

But sometimes we read these stories and unconsciously place miracles in the category of “things God used to do.”

We say, “God did that for Moses.”

“God did that for Elijah.”

“God did that for the apostles.”

But what about today?

Hebrews 13:8 gives us the answer:

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

The circumstances may change.

Technology changes.

Society changes.

People change.

But God does not change.

His character has not changed.

His power has not changed.

His ability has not changed.

His faithfulness has not changed.

This does not mean that God will repeat every miracle in exactly the same way. God is sovereign, and He does not operate according to formulas.

But it means that the God who was powerful enough to perform miracles then is still powerful enough to perform miracles now.

Perhaps you are facing something that appears impossible.

Perhaps human resources have failed.

Perhaps doctors have done what they can.

Perhaps every obvious door seems closed.

Perhaps you have reached the point where you don't know what else to do.

Remember this:

Your situation may be new, but it is not new to God.

The problem may be impossible for you, but it is not impossible for Him.

The God of the Bible is still alive.

And He is still the God of miracles.

Reflection

  • Do I truly believe God can intervene in my situation today?

  • Have I unconsciously limited God to what I have seen before?

  • What impossible situation do I need to surrender to God?

Prayer

Father, thank You because You do not change. Help me to trust Your power even when my circumstances seem impossible. Remove every limitation I have placed on You. Increase my faith and help me to believe that You are still able to do what no human being can do. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Daily Declaration

My God does not change.
His power has not diminished.
Nothing is impossible with Him.
I will not limit God by my circumstances.
I serve the God of miracles.
Amen.
