Topic: Friendship with God (Part 2) - Things that angels desire to look into

"Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into." (1 Pet 1:12) I always imagined that man will find a reason to be grateful to God if he looked hard enough. The truth is that God has granted us a position in creation that even angels can only desire to have. No creature in heaven, under the heaven, below the earth is as unique and purposeful as man - the earthly carrier of the express image of God! That is a wonderful combination. And God's utmost desire for creating man is to share a special kind of relationship with him and that is friendship..

Peter, when writing to the believers, spoke of things which were made available to man through salvation; things that angels desire to look into; things they can only wish to have; can only wish to be a part of. And one of those things is friendship with God. Angels aren't God's friends - they are His servants. That relationship and the right of being God's friends is reserved only for us. Yet, we seldom take full advantage of that divine provision.

We worship God, and share a special relationship with Him. The relationship of a loving Father and a caring Friend. He helps us in our infirmities; forgives us our shortcomings, cleans up our mess; and has also built a home for us in heaven to live forever with Him where we will judge angels (1 Cor. 6:3).

Friend, God is constantly extending His hand of friendship to you everyday. All you have to do is stretch forth your hands and grab His. Jesus said "He no longer calls us servants, but friends." That is for those who receive Him; those who repent of their sins and turn to Christ; those who embrace the glorious work of salvation done on the cross of Calvary. It is such people that He gives the right to become children of God. It is they that He adopts as friends. Don't let the devil rob you of this glorious friendship with God. it is an awesome relationship. The feeling is inexplicable. Nothing compares to it. There is no greater sense of confidence and security that to walk down the street ech day knowing that you are God's friend and the apple of His eye.

Stay Blessed!
