Do not be deceived (part 1) - The rise of false teachers

"...They love to indulge in evil pleasures in broad daylight. They are a disgrace and a stain among you. They delight in deception even as they eat with you in your fellowship meals." (2 Peter 2:13) " For among them are those who worm their way into households and deceive gullible women..." (2 Tim 3:6) The use of false teaching has always been the devil's first call of action when trying to blaspheme the truth of God's word, and lead many into deception. Believe me, the devil knows the importance of knowledge; and he knows that those who wish to make a reasonable head way with their lives will seek to acquire knowledge. How he fights and deceives such people is by raising false teachers who will deceive them by planting the wrong seed in them, leading them astray by providing them with false knowledge. The first step to not being deceived is to watch out and be careful of what you listen to and who you listen to....

Deception is an act the devil has mastered by many years of pratice and trial and error. The use of false teachings has worked for him since the world began so much that he sees it as an indispensable tool for drawing souls to himself. Indoctrination is a powerful thing. People will give up all sources of comfort and pleasure, go to war and even lay down their lives for something they believe in! Knowing this the devil seeks to indoctrinate people falsely using false teachers.

False teachers are everywhere - in the church, in the market place, inside commercial buses, in our neighbourhood. Speaking about them, the apostle Peter said that they are a disgrace and a stain! They bring reproach and delight in deception even as they pretend to be "looking out" for our own good. They will come professing to have our best interest a heart, claiming to have "received" a message form God concerning us, they may make some vague prophetic declaration that applies to anybody and everybody: "Someone here has something serious bothering them, God said I should tell you.. blah blah blah", "There is a woman here one of your children is causing you to shed tears at night... blah blah blah"

Bible says "God is not mocked!" This is not an attempt to deny the ability of the Holy Spirit to bring revelations, but this is a statement to all the false teachers out there deceiving people. God says your time is up! Friend, how do you identify false teachers and avoid them. It is actually simple: Any person that his teaching or his lifestyle is not in line with the truth of God is a false teacher. To qualify as a true teacher, one's life and teaching (both of them, not just one of them) must correspond to what the Bible says. A  true teacher from God will teach right and live right knowing that he is accountable to God. But false teachers will teach anything to serve their stomach, and in most cases their lives is a terrible display of immorality.

" Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. " (1 John 4:1)

I recommend you read carefully the chapter 9 "Getting the Truth" of my book TRUTH: A Life-changing Encounter, you will gain deeper insight on the activities of false teachers.

God bless you!
