The lifter of my head

"But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head." (Psa 3:3) It usually seem as if life is designed to combat itself. A wise person even stated that life is what happens to you when you are planning something else. Life is so unpredictable, so unsure. It is evident that everyone wants to succeed, to make it, to get to the next level; but it seems as if life naturally sets up event and circumstances to keep that from happening. No wonder people say that life is not fair. How do we cope in a world so full of uncertainties? How do we stay afloat amidst life's billows? How do we take the next step in spite of oppositions? How can we achieve the ultimate goal of going up in life?.

David was a man that had the least chance of getting ahead in life let alone becoming a king. He was the youngest of many brothers, and he was not even regarded as anything even by his own father. He was resigned to the bush tending to sheep and at the mercy of wild animals. Twice, his life could have been ended by a lion and a bear respectively. He had no formal education, no military training, no intimidating credential. Simply put, he was perfectly positioned to be a failure, a pauper for life, a peasant and a dirty shepherd.

But God had a different plan! It doesn't matter what life has in stock for you, God has a better plan. It doesn't matter what your parents think you are going to become, what matters is the divine purpose that God has created for your life. You are not an accident. There is no such thing as a child of circumstance. We are all offsprings of design. Divinity brought you here with an agenda. And as long as you are connected to God, He will accomplish His purpose in your life. Are you feeling down? Is your head hanging low in shame, confusion, delusion, disappointment, frustration? Here comes God, the Saviour - your glory and the lifter up of your head. May God lift you up in Jesus name. Amen
