"I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O Lord; for it is good. For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies." (Psalms 54:6-7) Life is full of problems. When I was younger my father tried to teach me the difference between problems and troubles when I once wrote him a letter from the dormitory, "Please, sir. Come quickly. I am in trouble". In his reply, he told me that as a child of God I should see any difficulty that come my way as a problem, not trouble". He said troubles are life threatening situations; situations that are beyond one's capacity to handle or come out of. A problem is when you are in need of say money to pay your school fee; trouble is when you are falsely accused of killing someone and the police arrests you! Today, we look at what God does when we are in trouble..
Everybody will always have problems. Problems are a big part of life. In fact, we should expect them because they carry the seed for our growth and maturity and promotion. But we should pray everyday like Jesus taught us to be delivered from all evils. Troubles are what we don't need.
Trouble destroys our peace, threatens our life and if not checked can wreck havoc that will take years to recover from, if at all. It is troubles that God speaks of when He says "Call upon me in the days of trouble, and I will answer and deliver".
David was a man whose life was plagued at one one point or the other by troubles. In one occasion, Saul sought to kill him. With three thousand men on his pursuit, Davis ran into the desert, hiding in caves. But God delivered him. David exclaimed "He(God) delivered me from ALL my troubles". I speak to you this day, no matter the type of trouble troubling you, rest assured that God will deliver you from it. May God deliver you in Jesus name. I command every evil plan against you to be shattered. God's deliverance is your portion right now. Walk out of that trouble now in Jesus name. No trouble will hold you down. God says He has delivered you from all troubles, and I declare that over you in Jesus name. Amen
