"So it was that she became pregnant and gave birth to a son." (1 Sam 1:20, GNB) Hannah was the most beloved wife of the two wives of Elkanah. Every year she would follow her husband to Shiloh and offer sacrifices to God. Her name "Hannah" meant "Grace" or "Favour", yet she had nothing to show for all these seemingly favours. Little wonder Peninnah would always find an excuse to mock her. She would tell her, "If you like answer Favour or Grace, If you like let our husband love you more, if you like go to Shiloh every year and pray, if you like become a church worker, if you like hold prayer and fasting every month... I will always be better than you! You will never have a child. You are here gathering favour for nothing. Look at me, Peni-baby, I don't even have to try. Just one touch, children don full everywhere". The Goodnews Bible says "Peninnah would torment and humiliate her". Hannah's problem was not that she wasn't a good prayer warrior or that she wasn't godly. The problem was simply "lack of evidence"..
In the court of law, a judge would dismiss a case if there are no evidence to back up the claim. For many years, Hannah's godliness was dismissed, neglected, mocked, jeered at.. for lack of evidence. As long as Hannah had no evidence to show for all her godliness, she remained an object of mockery and caricature.
I don't know the evidence that has been lacking in your life all these years, this month God has asked me to tell you that He will give you an Evidence. Your crying days are over. He is about to end all insults and mockery in your life. People will no longer murmur when you pass because the evidence has arrived.
Stay blessed and enjoy the new month!
