Fruit is not produced for the tree to eat. A mango tree does not consume its own mangoes. An orange tree does not eat its own oranges. Fruit exists so that others can benefit from what the tree produces. .

 

“Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”
— John 15:8 (KJV)

This is an important principle for our Christian lives.

God blesses us so that we can become a blessing.

The gifts, knowledge, resources, opportunities, wisdom, and influence God gives us are not meant to terminate with us. They are meant to flow through us.

A fruitful life is therefore a life that benefits other people.

If God has given you wisdom, somebody should benefit from it.

If He has given you resources, somebody should be helped through them.

If He has given you influence, somebody should be positively affected by it.

If He has given you encouragement, somebody should find strength through your words.

If He has given you a skill, somebody should experience value through that skill.

Fruitfulness is not measured only by what we possess. It is measured by what our lives produce for others.

Jesus spent His life serving people.

He fed people.

He taught people.

He healed people.

He encouraged people.

He restored people.

His life was continually producing something that benefited others.

That is the kind of life God desires for us.

Don't merely ask, “What am I getting from life?”

Ask:

“What is my life producing for others?”

 

Reflection

• Who is currently benefiting from my life?
• What has God placed in my hands that can bless someone else?
• Am I consuming more than I am producing?

 

Prayer

Father, make my life fruitful. Help me to recognize everything You have placed in my hands and use it to bless others. Let my knowledge, resources, skills, relationships, and influence become channels through which Your goodness reaches people. In Jesus' name, Amen.

 

Daily Declaration

My life is a blessing.
Others benefit from what God has placed in me.
I am a channel, not merely a container.
My gifts create value.
My life produces good fruit for others.
Amen.
