Laws of expansion (law 4) - know your limits, then extend them

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor" (Eccl 4:9) "One shall chase a thousand, and two shall put ten thousand to flight" (Hebrew proverb) We learnt yesterday how different matters expands differently when subjected to the same amount of heat. Science has proven that subjected to the same amount of heat, gold will expand differently than silver. This is because the property that determines how a matter expands is constant and based on its atomic makeup. This brings us to the fourth law of expansion, "know your own limits, then extend them". You see we all have a limit. This limits are placed on us by our natural abilities and some inherent features that try what we may we cannot do anything to change them. They are just there and they limit us. Expansion and elasticity share similar behaviour in that both bring about a seemingly increase in the size of the object; and they are both guided by a limit. When an object extends due to elasticity, it has a breaking point at which it breaks, and any attempt to extend the object beyond its breaking point results ‌in break and tear and loss. Now this happens in expansion, no matter how much you try to heat it, on its own a particular metal will always expand to a certain extent based on its composition as it is ruled by a constant known as the coefficient of expansivity. This constant places a natural limit on every matter which the only way to overcome it is by creating alloys especially for metals. An alloy is a chemical mixture of two or more metals to form one. This mixture allows the newly formed metal to possess the properties of the comprising metals..

Hence, the natural limit of expansion imposed on these separate metals are overcome as they share their properties and are able to reach greater heights of expansion. To go higher than your natural abilities can carry you, you need to involve other people and leverage on the strength of others. Form networks and have associates. Left alone, you will always fall short to your own natural abilities. But with the help of others, by forming partnerships and working relationships with people who posses some of the natural abilities you may lack, you can grow to unimaginable heights. You will also be able to share the responsibilities and burden of growth with others.
