"Be strong and courageous! Don't be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria or his mighty army, for there is a power far greater on our side!" (2 Chro 32:7, NLT) In my own opinion, the most dangerous sport is boxing. People spend their lifetime learning how to hit others with their fist and how to avoid getting hit in the process. Not only that, the undergo rigorous hand-targeted exercises to transform their fist into a killer weapon. It was sometime rumoured that a punch from one of the popular boxers of the time was equivalent to being hit with a 50kg bag of cement, and considering the smallness of the surface area of a clenched fist, it is safe to assume that the pressure from such an amazing force will be simply astounding. No boxer comes out of the boxing match unscathed. Bleeding mouth, broken nose, swollen faces, headaches... are a few of the outcomes of being constantly punched in the face. The effect continues to wear on the boxer as the fight progresses in rounds. Most times a knockout occurs. A knockout occurs when a boxer is rendered unconscious as a result of the impact of a punch. One punch carefully targeted and driven with enough force can knock a human being out of his senses and render him incapacitated for a count of ten!. Whatever you do in life, don't underestimate the power of an impact. Do not come in contact with a force you are not prepared to handle its effect. To handle an impact, you need to brace yourself. You need to prepare yourself. You need to equip yourself physically, spiritually, psychologically. We are all familiar with people saying that they want to make an impact in life. Well, making an impact goes both ways! You can't hit a wall with your bare knuckles and not suffer injury. The greater the impact you make, the more pain and sacrifice it will cost you! .
Impact is an action of one object coming forcibly into contact with another. Impact is a collision, a crash, a smash, a clash, a bump, a bang, a jolt, a thump, a slam, a contact! What would you do if you were about to be hit by such a force? A boxer's life is a chronicle of fist fights. Their lives are usually summarized in wins and losses and draw. The announcer would say, "Let us welcome Boxer A, 12 wins, 8 losses and 4 draws". Brace yourself, child of God. Something unconventional is about to happen. Brace yourself for impact!
