God bless you

"May God give to you — from the dew of the sky and from the richness of the land - an abundance of grain and new wine." (Gen 27:28, CSB) God bless you! This is something we usually say as christians. Those words have become some sort of greeting among christian. God bless you, brother. God bless you, sister. Personally, I could never keep count of how many times I say that in a day - during phone calls, regular conversations, replying to people's comments online, etc. The problem with familiarity is that it breeds contempt. And the more we hear something over and over, it starts to lose its meaning; and just becomes background noise. Today, we look at what we actually mean when we say "God bless you"; and does God actually bless people when we tell them God bless you or is it all just a way of being nice!.

It is not in doubt that God blesses people, we can all agree to that! But God does not bless everybody. Nevertheless, we must understanding that there are many kinds of blessings - good health, spiritual security, peace, joy, safety are all blessings from God. It is God who choses which one to bless us with. It is He who decides the blessing we qualify for. When we tell someone God bless you, it is God who decides the particular blessing to give to that person. This is usually based on which principle the person has obeyed!

If someone pays their tithes and/or gives a good offering, and we say God bless you. The blessing that action attracts is financial open doors and rebuking of devourers (Mal 3:10). If at any point, you think that "God bless you" is not working in your life, check your life because you are not doing something right. The truth is that God's blessing does not depend on prayers but obedience to His word.

After Isaac ate from the good meal prepared for him by Jacob, he said "God bless you". And in specific terms, he called down abundance upon Jacob's lives." May God give you ... an abundance", he said! God wants to bless you. God wants to give you an abundance. That is why He is bring these series of lessons your way. It is upto you to decide whther you want this abundance or not. It is your choice.

Once again I say, "God bless you"!
