Don't look at your pocket; look at your God!

"Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk" (Acts 3:3-6) I am always impressed by this exceeding show of faith demonstrated by these two beloved apostles - Peter and John. They encountered a very challenging situation. They met a situation that required their financial attention. They met a challenge that required them to exercise their financial strength. A man approached them and straightforward asked them for money. But neither Peter nor John had any money! But they didn't let the size of their pocket limit what they could do..

In life, if you are like me you will always have great dreams, great goals, great visions, aspirations, intentions which will require great funding and great financial expenses. You will, times without number, encounter situations that will cause you to check the content of your pocket; and sometimes you will find out that the money in your pocket is no where enough to meet your challenges. You will observe with fear that you do not have the money to solve your problems or sponsor your ministry or pay your child's school fee or fund your beautiful dream. Sometimes, just like Peter and John, life will bring you to the point where you will simply exclaim: "Silver and Gold have I not!" Then at such moments in your life, the big question is what do you do?

The message here lies in what Peter and John said next. He said "Such as I have, give I unto you". If you can remember at such trying moments that you have God then you will surely find the solution to your problem coming from even very unlikely sources. Don't look at your pocket, look at your God. It doesn't matter what financial challenge life throws at you, just remember that you have a God.

When I set forth to print my first book, I didn't have the money. My publisher and I made the budget and it was getting close to a million naira. I hadn't the money; and I went to God in prayer. The only thing God said to me is  "If it is My will, it is My bill". If it is God's will, then it is God's bill. If God meant for you to have it then He will provide it. Rely on God, not on your pocket. He  that made streams to flow in the wilderness and divided the Red sea can do more in your situations. Even if you don't have the money, you have God who has all the money! You can do it. Stand out.
