The testimony of Jesus

"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed which keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ" (Rev 12:17) Speaking of the gospel Paul says, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.." (Rom 1:16). Of a truth it pains me to report thatmost of what is masqueraded as the gospel today isn't. The gospel is not a motivational speech. It is not a get-it-right once in a lifetime sensitization talk. It is not a recant of historical facts and their relevance to modern day people. The gospel is a testimony. And without the testimony, it loses its power. The power of the gospel is in the testimony - the testimony of Jesus! If we are to preach the gospel, we must be point people to Jesus. The gospel is a testimony of who Jesus is, what He has done and what He is doing. It is this gospel that Paul was not ashamed to identify with. The gospel of how he met Jesus on his way to Damascus and how Jesus turned his life around. Everybody who belongs to Jesus and who preaches the gospel must have this testimony - the testimony of I was once a sinner, now I am saved. Satan becomes uncomfortable when this gospel is preached because this gospel shows the power in the name of Jesus. This is the gospel which Paul and all the early Apostles preached. And Paul says anyone preaching anything else apart from what they have preached is accursed because he is not preaching the gospel. Our power lies in the testimony of Jesus. How He touched us, saved us and empowered us for His work.

It may interest you to know that inspite of the numerous churches around, not many persons have encountered this great experience; not many persons have this testimony. we must therefore keep pushing the message, we must keep testifying about Jesus until we have made disciples of all nations.
