Don't let it break you

"The spirit of a man sustains him in sickness, But as for a broken spirit, who can bear it?" (Proverbs 18:14 AMP) .

We can truly survive a lot in life. As fragile as we may look on the outside, we are really built strongly. On the inside, we are all tougher than we look. God in His infinite wisdom knows how trying and demanding it is to live here on earth for as long as we will. He knows about sicknesses. He knows of heartbreaks and broken relationship. He knows about business failures, disappointments, setbacks, loss and death. None of these is unknown to Him.

He anticipated and foreknew these things before making us and that is why God gave us a strong will and a resilient spirit. Think of all the things you have been through and survived. Things you never imagined you could go through and come out stronger, and you will realize that you don't give yourself enough credit for your strength - your God given strength. You never thought you would survive if your marriage failed, but here you are stronger. What about how you thought the death of your child, mother, father, wife, husband, benefactor, etc will be the end of you and your joy, but you are still here. You lost all your money and you didn't commit suicide.

You have been through a lot and survived. God asked me to tell you that you are a survivor. As long as you don't let the situation break your spirit, you will always come out strong.

The way to strengthen your spirit is to keep drawing strength from the word of God and the person of God. When David was faced with the biggest situation of his life, the Bible said, "And David encouraged himself in the Lord..." (1 Sam 30:6)

Stay strong.
