"If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land;" (Isa 1:19) When it comes to God, there is only one thing that counts. If we must get anything from God, there is one specific prerequisite which has diverse applications depending on what it is we want God to do for us. We must realize that God is a God of covenant. God is not a respecter of persons, the Bible says. What that means is that God does not bend His rules or principles for anybody, no matter who they are. If this is true then we must be careful as christians and children of God how we relate with God. God says:
"If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land;"
The simple requirement that God places on receiving from Him is obedience. Obedience to His words and principles, or what the Bible sometimes calls His ordinances. No matter what we want from God or what we want God to do for us, there is a principle for it, and those principles can be found in the word of God. God is saying that if we can find out those principles and obey them then we will receive whatever we are asking.
As we step into the month of September, God has already told me that there is an abundance coming your way. Your only part is to obey. It actually says "be willing and obey". Willingness forces you to search out those principles, and obedience causes you to abide by them. Obedience to God is better than a thousand sacrifices. In the spiritual order of things, God values obedience above everything else. The way to receive God's blessing is to obey His will and instruction regarding that blessing.
