"About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?")" (Matt 27:46, NIV) "God makes everything happen at the right time..." (Eccl 3:11) Ogechi(God's time)! We give it as a name to our children. We sing it in our songs. It is woven into the very essence of our societal ideologies. It shows in our proverbs and idioms. It is almost a cliche in our conversation. It is such an overwhelming part of our philosophy that one would think we actually understand its concepts. But experience and history tell a different story - a story of a people who do not know what God's time is. A story of a people that have little or no faith in God's timing. The truth is that God has a time for everything and for everyone. He alone has the eternal script from which He can declare the ending from the beginning (Isa 46:10). He alone authored time, and He knows when exactly He has scheduled you..
A song writer by name Bright Chimezie echoed this philosophy in one of his songs when he said "no matter what you do, you cannot hurry or hasten the sunrise". You can not by your worrying or complaining cause the hand of the clock to move faster, so why worry? God has set a time in His calendar for your breakthrough, your deliverance and your victory. Keep trusting in the Lord and do not lose hope. Do not despair, you are working with the One who is the ultimate Time keeper.
When Jesus made the cry, "My God, My God why have you forsaken me?"; the first thing the Holy Spirit did was to check the time. It was exactly 3 O'clock; and God knew it wasn't yet time for Him to intervene. God is still looking at His time. He hasn't lost the schedule. You are still in His plan. He hasn't forgotten about you. He hasn't given up on you. He is just working with the time which He set right from the beginning. It is at the right time that God will intervene and save you.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jer 29:11, NIV)
God has got the time table. Stay tune!
