Focus on the glory

"Therefore, those of us who are mature should think this way. And if you think differently about anything, God will show you how to think." (Phil 3:1, ISV) Thoughts are the greatest show of focus. What we concentrate on dominates our mind. Whatever we let into our heart tend to fill it. As elastic as our mind is, it is possible to have it surged to the brim with one singular purpose using the power of focus. When we focus on a thing, it consumes us and takes over our mind and arrests our thought. This is why we must be careful what we focus on..

Realizing that the glory of God cannot be expressed without some effort on our part is the first step to redemption. God has done what He said He would do. God has fulfilled His promise upon our lives in that He has given us His glory. Whether we manifest this glory in its fullness or not is entirely upto us. One of the ways in which we can manifest the glory of God, one of the ways in which we can make this glory real in our life is by focusing on it.

To focus on something is to fix one's attention to it and to be guided by it. Seeing that in a past lesson, we have discussed that glory is brought about by the light, we will make an effort to understand what focus means to light. In Physics, light exerts more effect when it is focused.  Focus will mean the convergence of a beam of light to a single point. The higher the convergence of the beam, that is the greater the focus of the light on a spot, the brighter that spot will be. If you focus your light on the glory in you, the brighter it will shine, and the more it will be seen

Prayer

Lord, help me to focus my mind, my thought, my actions, my intellect on Thy glory. May my life radiate your glory as I fix my attention in pursuit of You in Jesus name. Amen
