"Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is honored." (Prov 13:18, ESV) In this lesson, we shall go straight ahead to discuss six vital keys that will unlock God's abundance in your life. It is still September - our month of abundance. My sincerest desire is that God shall fulfill His word upon your life. If you have not experienced this abundance, don't despair. Carefully go over these six vital keys and apply them in your live for immediate result. The word of God says that poverty and shame are the result of ignoring instructions. May you experience abundance as you listen and obey these six keys in Jesus name..
- Live a righteous life. God is a righteous God; and all His instructions and ordinances are meant first to produce righteousness in us, not just riches. The Bible is not a magical book where you can come and pick the things you like and leave the rest. No, if you embrace the word of God, you must embrace the whole of it. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach (Prov. 14:34) The first step to God's abundance is to stay away from sin!
- Pay your tithe. Disobedience to this instruction account for over 80% of poverty cases in our churches. Your tithe belongs to God; and you can't steal from God and prosper. No way. To experience God's abundance, honour God by paying Him your tithe.
- Learn to give to God. Now this is very important. Note that in the second point, I didn't say "give" your tithe to God, I said "pay" your tithe. The tithe is naturally God's own. You are not giving it to Him, you are paying Him. Giving to God has to do with giving offerings and supporting His work. It is a way to keep your channel of blessing through!
- Be a blessing to others. "The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself." (Prov. 11:25). If you want to be a receiver of God's abundance, you will go into the covenant of being a blessing to others. Learn to be a blessing to the less priviledged around you, and God will increase you the more!
- Work hard. God does not bless laziness or slothfulness. If you want God's blessing, you must engage in a useful work that solves people's problem so that you will create a channel to receive God's blessing. God is not ging to magically throw down money from heaven for you. "... if any man does not like to work, neither let him eat " (2 Thess 2:10)
- Pray hard. You must realise that just as you are working hard to receive God's abundance, there are also forces working hard to stop you from receiving it. Be a prayerful christian. Win your battles in the spirit. Command your abundance from the spiritual, and watch as it appears in the physical.
