"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chro 7:14) .

This is no doubt a very popular scripture. We often recite it when we are trying to talk about the importance of praying, repentance and consecration. We focus more often on the latter part of the scripture which describes what we ought to do so that God can in turn forgive and heal our land. But today, the Holy Spirit would like to draw our attention to the very first portion of this scripture where it says, "If my people!"

It is an amazing surprise that God calls them my people even though they had sinned and they have not turned from ther wicked ways, and their land is sick as a result. They are walllowing in sin and wickedness and godlessness, but He still calls them My People, and He also said they are called by His name. This is the greatest demonstration of the graceful nature of God. It doesn't matter what accusation the devil brings up against you, God still refers to you as My Child, My Son, My Daughter.

You must always remeber that it was God who chose you, you didn't choose Him. He was the one who first loved you. Even in your weakest and lowest point, He still sees you as His own. He will never leave you or forsake you because you made a mistake. He is not the God of second chances. He is the God of innumerable chances. He loves you. He cares for you. You are still His own. Come back and renew your relationship with Him. He has not given up on you!
