The battle belongs to God (part 1) - a necessary evil

"And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's." (2 Chro 20:15) Life is full of battles - that is for sure. There is nothing we can do to escape battles in life. And no matter how careful you try to be, battles will come from even the least expected places. Battles are simply a necessary evil! It is beyond the scope of our imagination to try to figure out why battles occurs; all we have to do is prepare our mind and configure our mindset to be able to handle them as they come. Because of the frequency with which we encounter battles in life, many people have simply resorted to the use of the metaphor: life is a battle. .

Battles of life may be moments of sadness, but we usually become better versions of ourselves after encountering a battle of life. By battle, I refer to  trying moments and circumstances that so terrible, severe and heart-breaking that they stretch us to our limits. Life's battles usually present us with theopportunity to encounter our true self and to experience the Hand of God at work.

As christians, the Bible says that we are more than conquerors no matter the kind of battle that comes our way. In other words, our victory does not lie on our mental or physical  strength; our victory is only possible because God takes over our battles. He fights for us while we watch. Our part consists chiefly of trusting God as He fights the battle and collecting the spoils of battle afterwards. We are kept safe from harm because God does not allow us to engage ourselves in the battle. Just think about it for a while: God is fighting for you. You know something we say it too often that it becomes another cliche. But if you take your time to think about it deeply, the meaning will hit you. God is fighting for us. Our battles belong to God.
