Outside His presence part 2

"And Cain went away from the Lord's presence and lived in a land called "wandering" which is East of Eden" (Gen 4:16, GNV) We began talking about the beautiful circumstances surrounding the birth of Cain, the world's first ever baby; and how the devil got involved and turned that story into a tragedy. Cain's problem began in the presence of God. He and his brother, Abel had come before God to present their sacrifices. But the rejection of his own sacrifice and the acceptance of his brother's sparked up jealousy, envy, avarice and acrimony in him. Right from the presence of God, these negative feelings of his was unlocking a door to something dangerous. We realize this as God told him: "... sin is crouching at your door. It wants to rule you, but you must overcome it." (Gen 4:7, GNV). In other words, God was telling him, remain inside. Remain in my presence. Don't step out. There is sin just right outside the door. It is crouching.. that means "lying in wait", "laying ambush". If we exit God's presence, we find ourselves exposed to several evil ordeals. This is why some people are in church and they are fornicators. They are in church but they are whore-mongers, members of occult groups, murderer, worshipers of Satan and many other things. This is because knowingly or unknowingly, they had left the glorious presence of God; and have been overpowered by sin. There are three things that happened to Cain when he left God's presence. Let's take a look at those three things. .

  1. Sin ruled over him. Sin is a force. There is a spirit behind every sin. And to be free from that sin is to overpower and overcome that evil spirit through the power in the blood of Jesus and the word of God. Whether it is lust, lying, fornication, adultery, selfishness, anger, etc. These things only take ground and rule us if we exit God's presence. Look at what the Bible said: "Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood." (Rev 22:15, NIV) Outside where? Outside God's presence.

  2. He became cursed. With sin comes curse. There is nothing else to get from sin except curses upon curses. The Bible said that sin is a reproach, a disgrace... a curse. When we live in sin, when sin rules over us; we live under curses. As honey attracts flies, so does sin attract curses. If you want to be free from all curses, it's simple. Get rid of sin.

Tomorrow, we shall deal on the third thing that happened to Cain as a result of leaving God's presence. To be continued... Stay blessed!
