Stepping into abundance (part 1) - the story of Texas

"Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed." (Prov 11:11) When we speak of abundance, blessings, riches; some Christians just don't get it. They think we are talking about some self-motivated desire to acquire money and make a public show of our wealth. Most Christians view any discussion on money and wealth creation as being "less" important to a christian since there are other "more" important things like holiness and fruits of the Holy Spirit. But the story of what happened recently in Texas provides another insight on why Christians should and must strive to live in the abundance that God has promised them. Texas is the second largest state in the United States by both area and population, home of the four great cities in the USA, namely: Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Dallas. But this beautiful state was recently hit by a Storm Harvey resulting to the destruction of over 100,000 homes. Look at how godly abundance is helping to restore the city. .

The Bible says through the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted. No sooner had the storm hit the city than Christian philanthropic organisations swung into action - saving lives, providing relief materials and praying calling for prayers. I watched several videos of TD Jakes MegaCare, Joyce Meyer's Hand-of-Hope, Copeland Network, CindyTrimm and many more sending relief materials, helping to rebuild homes and joining members of the National Guard to rescue people trapped in the storm.

As I watched all these with keen interest, I can only relate it to the greatest reason God wants us to live in abundance. Through our blessings, our cities and country will be saved and exalted. These great missionaries have been able to make a difference in millions of lives because they possessed the abundance to do so. Until you start looking beyond your personal needs and start seeing the needs of God, you will never enjoy God's abundance. If you desire to step into God's abundance, find out what God needs and make yourself an instrument for God to use.

We have had several storms in Nigeria, but in most cases the victims are left to their own fate or at the mercy of the government who can only do so much. When righteous people who have been blessed with money by God involve their wealth to serve their city and nation, the city is saved and exalted.

Truthlife thanks all the Christians worldwide who donated, prayed and made one effort or the other to save the city of Texas. God bless you, all.
