The reason is simple and the principle is amazing. Man is a finished product; the other things were raw materials. This is why no improvement can be made on man. He is God's masterpiece. You can't make man any better. He is fearfully and wonderfully made. No plastic surgery or transhumanisation can produce anything superior to what God has already made. But on the contrary you can used trees to make paper, use animal skin for leather. But man is a finished product. He is a God-kind. He is created to create.
