"The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth." (Psa 145:18) Life is hard as it is. We meet people, we become friends. We grow apart and they leave. Some relocate. Some simply stop keeping in touch. We are tormented daily with memories of friends who have abandoned us; friends who we can't reach; friends who are simply never going to be there again. Even with the advent of social media and globalisation of the world, we find out that though we can be connected with over one billion persons at a time through our phone, yet we are still alone; lost in the abyss of our own mind. Sometimes company is all we are actually praying for. All we want is for people to just be there. We don't want them to help us or give us money or nothing. We just need them to be there... to just show up and look concerned. But the greatest reality strikes us when we find out that we are just on our own; abandoned to our own fate in a world that is as cruel as cruelty can be! Then we learn an amazing truth: The Lord is near to those who call Him. God is just a call away. All we have to do is bow down and talk to the owner of the universe. We have been granted divine access and security clearance. .
We may never have full access to the governments of this world. We may never be able to partake directly in the enactment of laws. But we can influence the outcome by calling upon the creator of the whole world. The Bible says the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. It doesn't matter what your needs are, you can call on God because He is aleays within earshot. You can always reach Him. Just call!
